Larger than most of the older Limoges fish plates, this set's 10 plates are a full dinner plate size, and that platter is 16.5" x 12" - large enough for a fabulous huge salmon or trout. A gold rim on the white porcelain elevates the aesthetic, but you can use these as decorator or table, either one. The trout is my favorite, but there are 5 different transfer scenes (2 each) on the place plates, each hand painted over the transfer. And that large native trout on the platter. We've shown the maker's mark, but it's a Limoges decorator I'm not familiar with. If you know who it is, please email so we can add to our listing. I think these are vintage rather than antique - not nearly so pricey but absolutely fabulous to use.
Very good to excellent condition, there are no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, no nips on rim and no utensil marks. A superb set that has obviously been on display only and not put to use. I love the idea of having the hand painted fish plates at table, but lift them and replace with the service plate that will be eaten from, making sure you don't end up with utensil scrapes on your painted plates.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
