With a French Empire feel to it, this lovely old barometer and thermometer combo dates 2nd Empire, c.1870 to perhaps as late as 1900. It is in fine working order and has no damage to report. A large 18.5" tall, it will thrill you in use for centuries to come. Our photos tell the story better than I can.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The barometer is an aneroid barometer, typical of the period, and it is working perfectly as far as I'm able to tell (we don't have a whole lot of big weather swings here in San Diego, CA). The thermometer is complete and undamaged and the wood and more bronze casement and trim is all just fine and very pretty. Had I a spot for this one, it wouldn't have made it to our shop. I'm kind of in love with it. You? LOVE that it's all in French, too.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
