I'll tell you, I'm not absolutely certain about this one. I've looked and looked and I have some slight doubt that he might be a replica of the 19th century carvings, or he might just be the work or a slightly less talented carver, but the rather unique possibility of using him as a table menu board was tempting enough to put him into my buying trip packages anyway. I'm passing along a very good buy on him, which further makes me think he's vintage rather than antique. But I think you'll agree he's perfect to mount your printed menu on that shield and work him into the table centerpiece for fun dinner parties at your ski chalet, cabin, or just at home. He does have glass eyes, a painted mouth, nicely carved fur. But mostly he's got great potential for fun!
Very good to excellent condition, no chips or cracks to report. Ready to have your family name cared on the shield, perhaps, or to have your menu board attached there, instead, and use at table. Isn't he fun!
