Fabulous antique Carl Tielsch & Co. 6pc 8 3/8" decorative cabinet plate set with unique pierced or reticulated pink & gold borders and each with a unique hand painted & raised gold enamel accented floral array! Simply beautiful decorative accents! Each with a unique floral arrangement beautifully hand painted in the center, the flowers all as realistic and colorful as can be in pinks, pale blues and with the raised gold enamel accenting throughout. It took me a bit of time to find reference but we believe the marks are those of the Carl Tielsch & Co., Germany (now Poland), just 250 km from Dresden. In 1845, encouraged by Carl Krister's results as a porcelain entrepreneur, Tielsch founded in 1845 in the locality of Altwasser (today Stary Zdrój, a district of Wałbrzych, Poland), together with his partner Gideon von Wallenberg (a banker from Wrocław), the porcelain factory Carl Tielsch & Co.. In 1861, Tielsch was awarded the title of the Royal Trade Counsellor in acknowledgment of his contribution to the Silesian industry. His son Egmont Tielsch became his successor and the Tielsch factory is producing to the present day under the name "Fabryka Porcelany Wałbrzych S.A.". This set dates between 1875-1900, judging from the style of the mark. A beautiful set, wonderful decorative accents and all in superb condition!
Very good to excellent condition. No edge chips, no cracks or repairs to note, amazing given the age and pierced borders. There is some wear to the gold rims and some wear here & there to the raised gold enamel. All as you see them, gorgeous! See pictures for measurements.
