We all just love these elegant big serving or bar trays! Just as they did in the Napoleon III (mid-Victorian) era of Grand Tours, from whence most were brought back to Europe. This big beauty might be vintage 1940 or earlier, no later. The carving is superb, and it's in fine condition since it had apparently hung on the wall (very old bracket still on it, and will stay with it - easily removed should you not want to hang, though but it's antique). The tray is intricately hand carved, hasn't a single break or chip to note. I love these are bar trays atop a buffet. So elegant! We've used them in Master bath, also, to hold a stack of towels, opulent soaps. You'll find the perfect way to display or use this one.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. It has the very old and interesting hanging apparatus that is probably responsible for it's superb condition. There aren't marks of use on that surface, which is quite unusual for these old ones. The bracket removes easily, but will come with the tray in case you just wish to continue its past of was decoration. The tray is 21.5" x 15" and is a full 2" in depth, with frog and all carved from the single original piece of wood. Just gorgeous!
