This is a gorgeous old French shelf, large at 29" tall, and slightly distorted in the front-on photos by our photographer, so look at it in the sidelong images to see how the design is elongated and elegant. The shelf is a corner shelf, as noted, and has 3 tiers or shelves. I'm going around trying to find a corner at home where I can put this one to use, but meanwhile, here it is. It's just in from Paris, in really nice condition, begs to be in a master bath or guest bath in some fine home, offering beautiful towels and bath goods, don't you think? I love these old French shelves! Collection or whatever you decide, it's going to get a lot of attention all on its own. The contrasted grains/shade of walnut and the serpentine line of the design are just thrilling!
Very good to excellent. No veneers missing - heavy and solid and with a satiny sheen to the original finish. Old hardware in place and ready to hang. The side measurements are about 10.75" at widest point, each way, and 29" in overall height. Have you got a spot for it? I'm dating it prior to 1915, and could very easily be 1800s. Will try to hang it and get a better image of the entire shelf in situ.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
