Rare antique French Napoleon III era 9 3/4" tall miniature display vitrine, unique sedan shaping with ornate gilt embossed maroon leather covering, shelved interior and superb condition! One of the very old ones, 1850-70s, a leather clad wood body, a nicely formed Louis XV Sedan chair in miniature, gold embossed leather outside, silk satin interior, all original. The lifting boards on sides are intact, complete with their own embossed leather coverings. The interior has the original fabric lining and two shaped glass shelves. It has all of the original shaped & beveled glass panels in place, front and sides, and would be a wonderful display piece or sedan for a Bru or other antique doll. Rare to find in such pristine condition!
Very good to excellent condition. They really don't come too much finer. All of the original gilt embossed leather intact with no splits or damage to note other than a tiny chip/hole on the back and some roughening at the corners. One of the lifting board or rail holders has been replaced, right side rear when looking at it from the front. It's been replaced with a painted brass piece. The rear fixture on the left side is also missing some of the leather, showing the metal beneath. All original beveled and shaped glass panels in great shape, as are the shaped glass shelves on the inside. See pictures for measurements.
