Oh, we just love finding these antique artist's watercolor boxes, sets, particularly when they have the old pressed bricks of fine aquarelle paints still in them. It's rare as can be to find one that was never put to use. These were often student sets, by the way, and/or gifts to young artists, and obvious from this one, it just never got put to use. The old slide-off topped box is nicely made in wood. The interior still has even the paper pads protecting the ceramic mix pots, and all 12 of the original blocks of color. Not even broken! We never can keep these in stock when we do find them. I know this one won't last either. Lovely old set, c.1880-1920, and in a while back from France.
Very good to excellent, in unused condition throughout. Lovely age to it, and it's definitely an old one that's been tucked away. Offered up just as you see it. Measurements are noted on the photos. Box is a tidy 8.5" x 3.5" and 1" in depth. Lid slides off, as shown in our final photo. Don't miss it.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time.
