Unsigned, probably Sevres, but without signature we can't be positive. But look at the fine work on this pair of Old Paris porcelain cabinet plates. Exquisite raised gold enamel work that includes cartouches with torch, musical instruments in raised hand pained gold enamels. The gold enamels is rich with powder/pulverized gold, and enriches these old plates enormously. I am always drawn to these old raised gold enamel-worked plates. I watch for the retailers of new productions in Paris each time I'm there, and they range to the 5000 euro per plate ranges. Something like this pair would be in the higher ends of that figure, if painted and created today. The antique ones have the added cachet of age and finer artist work, if you ask me. This pair of cabinet plates have Romantic subjects, after the 1700s works by Boucher, Fragonard, other artists whose work you'll fine in the Louvre and other museum collections. I can't date these to the 1700s, but they might very well be. At the very least they are pre-1850. Spectacular - museum quality. 9.5" diameters.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, no chips nor cracks and no hairlines to take away from their beauty or value. Rich Sevres or Celeste blue border is opulent with the applied enamel work in bas relief, raised gold. The paintings in centers of each plate are free of damage or loss, but are unsigned. Some age showing in rubs along the gold outer rim of plates, perhaps but very little. A very fine pair.
