Either worked into the paneled walls of an opulent old building, or perhaps support or decorative carvings salvaged from a wonderful old piece of furniture, the pair of caryatids now are ready to either hang on wall or work into your own cabinetry design to create a fabulous one-of-a-kind kitchen or den. We've used this type of carved panels as we structured our kitchen cabinetry and love the look of the final result. Designer look, and you can't imagine how expensive these are to be carved by modern carvers today. Always better to use the antique ones, they're always a bargain and always look better. Beautiful shape for just hanging on your wall, too. Lots of photos. I bought these in Paris recently, can't find a place in my own home for them so you're in luck. Neo-classical forms carved early to mid- 1800s, I'd say, and more likely from old home paneling than furniture.
Very good condition, as you see them in our photos. They have a rather unsightly eye bolt in backs of their heads from which they've been wall-displayed, but I'd change that out so they can fit flush with the wall if you're hanging. You'll decide. No wood worm evidence on these.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
