Elegant antique 1873-1891 hallmarked Tiffany & Company sterling silver 7 3/8" tea caddy or decanter with original sterling silver top and engraved monogram! Susan says this is a tea caddy and I'm sure she's right but it could also be a great little decanter for cream at coffee or tea time, or even as a bonne nuit for water at the bed side. The monogram appears to read "T.R.F." though I could be mistaken. Thick, heavy sterling silver, the piece weighs 9.3 troy ounces or 288 grams and holds 12 fluid ounces. The base is marked "Tiffany & Co., 8816M1248, Sterling Silver", the mark used by Tiffany between the dates above and under the directorship of Edward Moore. A fine piece, don't miss it!
Very good condition. Some light tarnish visible in the lobed decoration, sorry :). There is also some wear to the vermeil finish on the inside of the cap or stopper. No dents, dimples, damage or repairs that we can see. See pictures for all measurements.
