Antique Louis Philippe to Napoleon III era French sterling silver tete a tete or solitaire sized coffee or tea pot with ornate Aesthetic movement styling, lobed pear shaped body and ebony or ebonized wood handle! A lovely piece, about medium sized where French pots are concerned, it stands a total of 7 1/4" tall and is 7 3/4" wide from handle to spout. More of a tete-a-tete size, meant for two. The floral finial, lid and body all bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are for Louis Bachelet, Paris circa 1844-1877. A charming piece!
Very good condition. Possibly a tiny dimple or two but, as you can see, there are no larger dents to note. There are some slightly darkened patches to the exterior. The pot holds up to 24 fluid ounces. See pictures for weight and measurements.
