Perfectly preserved panels of hand carved wood comprise the outer cover to a wonderful stationery portfolio, and make this a fabulous accent to keep at your cabin or lodge, as well as at home. The carving is without damage, and is superbly crafted in deep bas relief. A pair of birds in nest, florals. Even the backside of the folio is carved. The accordion-pleated gussets within reveal pockets specifically made for your stationery and correspondence. There are 4 sections in all. There are a couple of flaws to this interior lining, as you can see in our images and noted below, but in general it's remarkably fine for age and type.
Very good condition. The carved covers are beautifully accomplished, without any chips on the pair of birds, their nest of eggs, nor the curled-leaf branch into which they are placed in that recessed oval. Beautifully done. The corners of the panel might have the very lightest rub or wear over time, but no chips. The backside is carved in compliment, and is also in very good condition, without splits or chips. Interior shows some wear, mostly to the edges of the pleats/sides, where there is some freying and wear. There are 2 tears in the crimson red material, marked in our images with 'x' for your review. Still, with storage compartment in the inside top, and 4 gusseted pouches in the bottom half, it's a wonderful piece. Don't miss it!
