Elegant antique French sterling silver 23pc luncheon, entremet or dessert sized flatware set, sleek with large raised “SD” monograms! To be honest, it is possible that the missing fork is here with us somewhere, taken out to photograph with some knives perhaps or just misplaced. Unfortunate yes but it does happen sometimes. As it stands, there’s a complete 2pc table setting for eleven here so just find some fitting knives if you wish and enjoy! All bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number “1” within those marks means they’re in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for “sterling” silver). Silversmith marks are for Henin & Vivier, Paris circa 1891-1896. Nothing overly frilly, just sleek, smooth and relatively heavy French sterling silver with those “SD” monograms just about screaming for attention. Being Susan’s initials, she had thought to hold on to them and then, after years, decided that we might as well try to clear some of our treasures (yes, even some we’ve sworn we’d never part with). SO, with that in mind, be sure to browse our shop. We’re always adding new and wonderful finds.
Very good condition. Some slight surface scuffing, indicative of light use over the 100+ years. The photos show that our silver polisher didn’t quite do the job this time before we photographed the set but we’ll go over them again and have them ready to ship. See pictures for weights and measurements.
