Wonderful antique French Napoleon I era sterling silver 9" oil & vinegar cruet stand or caddy, Aesthetic styling with foliate accented center handle, columnar legs or feet and two gorgeous St. Louis marked wheel cut crystal decanters! Elegant, I just love these old French silver pieces and this one leaves very, very little to be desired. 1809-1819 French 'Coq' and Mercury hallmarks though I haven't been able to find any silversmith marks so it may have been a custom made set or I'm just missing them somehow. Truly scrumptious with the two thick & heavy crystal decanters, both marked Saint Louis on the base and both with wheel cut accenting and faceted stoppers. The "Compagnie des Cristalleries de Saint Louis" is a corporation, founded in 1767, is the oldest glass manufacturer in France with roots dating back to 1586 and the first crystal glass manufacturer in continental Europe. An exceptional piece, don't miss it!
Very good condition. I see no chips or cracks to the decanters, not even to the stoppers which is exceptional. The silver caddy has no notable damage or repairs but does show some age tarnish in places, as you can see in the images. The silver alone weighs 6.75 troy ounces or 210 grams. See pictures for measurements.
