Rare Antique French Sterling Silver 4pc Coffee & Tea Set, 2 Pots, Sugar & Creamer: Empire SWAN Finials!
Spectacular & RARE antique French sterling silver 4pc coffee 7 tea set, two full sized 32oz pots, covered sugar & dreamer in an elegant Empire style with elegant SWAN finials! Most of the time we find & offer superb old French sterling silver single coffee or tea pots but every so often we find find a truly great COMPLETE set and that's what we have here! Carved ebony or ebonized wood handles, baluster shaped bodies with footed bases and all but the creamer with those fabulous & RARE long-necked swan finials! All pieces bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are for Gaston Bardies, Paris circa 1897-1914. A stunning coffee & tea service, spoil yourself!
Very good condition. There is a slight bit of dimpling on the back (no monogram) side of the coffee and tea pots. Also a small dimple on the sugar. I'd thought to send them to our silversmith to have the dimples smoothed out but they're really so minor that I figured I'd just get them listed before the Holidays. Lastly, it looks like there is an old repair to the front curve of the teapot's spout. Likely dents that have been smoothed and possible silver filled by a French silversmith at some point. Really only evident on close inspection. See pictures for all individual measurements and weights.
