If I had one more space 20" long in my kitchen in the other house, this one would be hanging there and holding my kitchen tools rather than pipes. That's what I bought this one for and then realized it was slightly too large/long for the space I had free. Your spatulas, wooden spoons, whisk, all will fit and hold in the openings that were originally made for pipes. So even though you might not be a pipe smoker, you might still want to consider this gorgeous old hand carved rack. I've seen them used to display a set of large old French sterling silver soup spoons, too, and this would be wonderful in a Country French kitchen, used in that manner.
Very good condition for age and type. Dates late 1800s to as late as 1915. There are 2 larger holes at outside and 11 rack holders to consider. We've noted in the images as well as here that one of those has at some time been broken and is solidly glued. I've marked with "x" on photos. Look there. I think it might once have had a monogram carved and mounted on that top barrel shaped plaque between the carved pipes up top. It seems something was once there. A bit of a farm kitchen theme to the items carved, I think. And oak leaves and ribbon bow & boards round it out. Wonderful old thing! Large and impressive!
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
