Delightful & rare antique Victorian era Black Forest hand carved 8 1/8" smoker's stand or spill vase, a figural scene with police gendarme & thief in front of an old building facade and marked "Weisenburg - 1870"! What a unique and fabulous old piece! Hand sculpted from one large, solid block of wood and amazing! The detail and extensive nature of the carving is superb. Likely meant to be a cigar smoker's stand, the larger receptacle on the left for cigars and the smaller to the right for matches. Great as a match & spill holder on the fireplace mantel or just as the wonderful decorative sculpture that it is! Rare, fabulous, don't miss it!
Very good condition. Each of the figures has a missing hand but, as you can see, the piece is in overall wonderful shape. Possibly a small nip or two but no large chips, damage or repairs to note. See pictures for measurements.
