This is a wonderful Belle Epoch (c.1880-1910) French Art Nouveau figural epergne, complete, in remarkably fine condition. And at 22" tall, 14.5" wide and 6.5" diameters to the fluted and ruffle glass bowls, a marvelous large table centerpiece you'll enjoy. The metal stand is probably spelter, or something similar. In fine condition, it is painted in a variety of patinas that make it seem more like bronze. But it is white metal. The tall upper ruffled flute of the stand is remarkably fine, all original pieces on this one. Top has green accent and the lower pair have a deep claret or wine color - burgundy. Flourishes in the design that are definitely Art Nouveau, it's a splendor to behold. Comes apart completely so can be safely packed for shipment or storage between uses. A real show stopper! These were so popular throughout the Victorian era, too, and speak to a Victorian decor, I think.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, not a nip or chip even on that fragile ruffled glass rim of any of the 3 glass parts. The bottom 2 mount with a bolt, firmly. The top is set into the fitted opening, a long stem that holds it upright. Might want to put some putty in there if you wish to keep it mounted at all times. It does lift right out as it is. The metal is white metal, finished in bronze-like patina but it is likely spelter based on the date and the French use of that alloy for such pieces. Hollow-cast, it has no flaws to note - perhaps a rub here or there on patina, only to mention as it is truly fabulouso as you see it here. Overall 22" tall and 14.5" wide, 6.5" deep. Superb!
