Exquisite antique European sterling silver & wheel cut crystal bonbon or raised sugar dish, figural with a majestic swan figural base and ram's head side handles! Gorgeous! The hallmarks most closely resemble those of Karl Kurz Silberwarenfabrik, Kesselstadt (Germany) c. late 19th century. The tiny weevil mark is, of course, the French hallmark for an imported silver item. Since it's a continental piece, it is most likely of .800 silver content rather than the higher .925 of sterling silver but solid silver and the standard for the area and age. A glorious piece, not too often that these great old figural swans come along and this one has both impressive detail & size AND fantastic condition! Guaranteed to please, don't miss it!
Very good-excellent condition. A tiny nip or two to the crystal dish is possible but there are no large chips, no cracks or other damage. No damage to the silver base, just a gem! Weighs 734 grams with the crystal dish, the silver alone weighs 10.7 troy ounces or 334 grams. See pictures for measurements.
