Fabulous antique to vintage French Belle Epoch era two piece sterling silver tea or coffee set: a large hot water or tea pot with carved ebony handle and covered sugar! Likely early 1900s though we can't be certain. Both in superb condition, in thick & heavy old French hallmarked sterling. The French Minerve or Minerva hallmark designating the highest silver content, .950 and higher than that of sterling silver. Silversmith marks that read either 'NH' or 'HN' but I've not found reference to it, possibly Henry Nudot, 5 rue Rambateau, Paris circa 1851-1889. Elegant acanthus festooned rims & finials, unique body style and guaranteed to please!
Very good-excellent condition. There are slight surface scratches toward the top rear of the sugar. No hallmarks that I can find on the sugar vessel or its lid, odd but obviously a match to the hallmarked pot. See pictures for measurements.
