Ancient Tibetan Carved Wood Foo Dragon/ Temple Dog/Lion - 17th-18th century
This is one of the oldest items in our vast collections of antiques. It is, I am told, a 1600-1700s Tibetan Foo Dragon, which would have adorned an ancient temple, either inside or out. The piece has been a favorite of mine, from my own collections, and now I'm letting a lot of the Oriental antiques go, since I don't display them anymore. Isn't this one an amazing treasure!
Excellent condition, age considered. The finish and surface on this is weathered, yet absolutely of highest appeal. It's an amazing and incredibly old piece, shows some of that age, but is museum quality antiquity item. NOT a reproduction or a recent carving!
If this item includes any CITES Appendix I materials, all state and federal documentation and certificates required by law for commercial sale, import or export, have been obtained for it. Proper legal paperwork will be included with it at shipment.
