The dainty little etui we're offering here, complete with its two original little perfume vials, flasks, dates to late 1700s and is a remarkable little treasure simply by its completeness and its excellent condition. Over 220 years old, not even the perfume is missing (I didn't want to wash it out - it's part of the charm and collector's interest, is it not?). Ribbon and torch motif, typical of its time. The mother of pearl is highly pearlescent, for some reason my photographer didn't angle the lights to show that, but it is just superb. Ranges in a full rainbow of shimmer. None finer!
Very good to excellent condition throughout. The set is petit, early and hasn't any missing panels of incised and lac-decorated mother of pearl. Not even a chip, really, on any of those beveled edges. This one has been cherished or stored away for centuries. Measurements noted on our photos, but it is just 2 1/8" tall when closed, 1 5/8" wide and 3/4" depth. Both vials are mouth-blown glass and the stoppers are each the old originals.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
