Fantastic & RARE antique French hallmarked sterling silver 3pc Napoleon III era traveller's dining set for kit, a pliant or "pliante" folding knife, fork, & spoon with ornate handles, original blades, etc. and all in marvelous condition! These would normally be found in a traveling compendium or etui, commonly with the other items a traveler or picnicker might need such as a tumbler, cork screw, etc. Rare to find though and especially in such wonderful condition, as you see here. All with the original folding implements, the spoon and fork hallmarked French .800 silver (nearly sterling and slightly less silver content due to the added strength and durability that would provide). The handles also hallmarked, only the knife blade and inner mechanism are not sterling (or .800), it the original steel though. The French Minerve or Minerva on all, the tiny number "2" designating at least .800 silver content (at least 80% pure silver). The silversmith marks appear to be for Lucien-Louis Bouclier of Paris and date from 1862-1889. A fabulous set, the Swiss Army style camping gear for those of us to camp with Louis Vuitton luggage :). Rare, don't miss them!
Very good to excellent condition. Just as you see them. Recently professionally polished and ready for your adventure! See pictures for all weights and measurements.
