Absolutely delightful antique French Belle Epoque era sterling silver 8 3/4" tall tete-a-tete sized coffee or tea pot with solid ebony or ebonized wood handle, very French bow & ribbon and roses in floral swag in a chased or bas relief style around the body, acanthus accented handle and wonderful condition! I just love this little pot! Not so little, I guess, standing just under 9" tall with the finial but about half the size of a normal coffee or tea pot. Meant to serve one or two, solitaire or tete-a-tete, and simply gorgeous. The decoration around the urn shaped body has depth to it, as you would find in hand chased pieces, with the large roses and folds in the bow & ribbon evident to the touch. The pot and lid both bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are for Regina Benvenisti, Paris circa 1893. A lovely piece, don't miss it!
Very good condition! There is a tiny dimple where the lid hits the wood handle but no real dents or damage to note. Handle is original and solid. See pictures for weight and measurements.
