Fabulous & unique antique Victorian to early Edwardian era 17” tall wall hanging keys or spice cabinet, a lovely decorative piece with ornate reticulated or pierced front door and framework consisting of vines & foliage! I just love this piece! It does show its age a bit but what a fun, fabulous decorative accent. A fixture in any larger home or business, this would have held the different keys to all of the chambers and you still see them here and there used for the original purpose. The front door has an oval reticulated center with vines & foliage, the outer frame and top overhang of the cabinet also beautifully adorned with leaves & vines. The carving is really impressive, of of the original hardware but it's missing the key and the inside would have had an array of small hooks to hold the keys but someone has removed them at some point. Easily replaced or add some small shelves for a fabulous spice cabinet. A lovely decorative accent and rare to find in such wonderful shape, don’t miss it!
Very good condition. The top carved cornice piece or overhang has had a re-glue along the back side but it's really not noticeable from the front. The door closes securely but, as noted above, it's currently without the old skeleton key to lock it. Possibly a small nip or two elsewhere. See pictures for all measurements.
