Aren't these wonderful! A complete twelve piece set of antique French hallmarked sterling silver shellfish or oyster fork set with solid carved mother of pearl handles, wonderful condition and original storage and/or presentation case. The blade portions, from the handle up, are sterling silver and bear the French Mercure or Mercury hallmarks meaning they were made for export from France. The silversmith marks are for Claude Doutre Roussel, Paris from 1895. A lovely set, ready to use...ready to impress!
Very good condition. Some faint surface scuffs to the sterling handles but, as you can see, they're all in great shape. One fork has a professional silversmith repair to the neck or stem, just below the fork tine area. The mother of pearl handles are free from any chips, cracks, breaks or repairs but do have some slight visible scratches. The box is, we think, original to the set and is in great shape, age considered. See pictures for measurements.
