I love this old painting! It's so peaceful and calming, it's hanging in my home right now. The painting is a watercolor (aquarelle) rather than oil painting. Nicely framed, the frame will stay with the painting, of course. Signed by the artist, lower left, "Ed Heirman", and we have no date on it but I'd put it c.1930-50 from the frame. The mat portion of this frame has also been oil painted to accent the palette of the painting, to wonderful effect. The painting it without a cover glass right now and we hesitate to put one on since it will be both lighter in weight and safer to ship without. But if our customer wants, we can cut and install a cover glass in advance of shipment. Just ask.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. I bought this one is Paris, but the artists is perhaps Germanic, based on the name. Vibrant yet soothing palette and this artist is very talented, adept, to get this stunning result in watercolor, which is notably unforgiving. Superb composition. Not a bit of damage to the watercolor paper and frame is also very nice, as shown in our images.
