Absolutely gorgeous & rare antique to vintage French sterling silver 12pc 10" dinner sized table knife set with ornate Louis XV or rococo style pattern, interlaced "LBS" monograms and pristine stainless steel blades! A truly exceptional set dating to the early 1900s, these are quite unique with their ornate style AND with stainless blades. Stainless steel only began to be widely used in cutlery after around 1911 so we normally find these great old French knives with steel blades that are prone to rust and/or corrosion. NOT here, these are table ready and as beautiful as can be! The handles all bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The tiny silversmith marks are for Lapparra & Gabriel, Paris circa 1902-1923. Superb, don't miss them!
Very good-excellent condition. Just as you see them, blades are all pristine and only some slight surface scuffs to the sterling handles. The box appears to be original, is the standard black leatherette with royal blue lined & fitted interior and has a gold embossed mark inside that reads "E. Poujol, Nice". See pictures for all measurements.
