Eye catching design by Adolphe Katz for Coro Craft depicting a colorful parrot (?) bird with wings outstretched and perched on a fruit branch. TH birds body and wings are done in sparkling pave crystal rhinestones while the wings and tail stripes are decorated in green, black and red enamel colors.
The metal is a yellow gold over sterling. I was not able to find this exact design patent but it is very similar to the Love Birds duette patented in 1942 (#133668).
Condition is excellent. There's a few darkened stones consistent with age, but also still plenty of sparkle. The gold finish is bright and I can find no wear to the enamel colors. One of the eyes appears to be a crystal rhinestone with a bit of red around it (originally painted red and the color wore off?) while the other, more protected eye features a still bright red rhinestone.
Measures 2 3/4 inches in height, and 2 inches in max width. A very nice addition to a discerning costume jewelry collection.
