Sparkling showstopper collar style necklace signed Dorsons Sterling with clear cut crystals deeply set in bright squares of sterling silver. The crystals are round cut with the high table typical of earlier 20th century jewelry. This necklace was meant to be worn gracefully draped around the neck and shoulders framing the decollete.
Dorsons, also known as D. Ornstein and Sons, was active in New York from 1922 to 1950. Condition is very good. Two stones were missing and have been replaced, and few stones show minor age related yellowing. But none are dead or darkened and the metal is bright and clean. The crystals are bead set into the metal and glued. Clasp is strong and secure. The necklace measures 15.5 inches in length and weighs 37 grams.
Will come nicely boxed.
