This amazing little brooch was excavated in Britain. It dates from the Roman occupation of Britain during the first century A.D. It is child size and used for fastening clothing at the shoulder which is typically Roman style of the period. It is complete and intact with a lovely old crusty patina.
It measures 1-1/4 inches long and 1/2 inch wide at the top. The pin back does unclasp but I didn’t try to open it any wider so as not to break the old metal. It could be sewn on a doll costume so as not to use the clasp.
An elegant addition to any doll’s wardrobe it would cause all the other dolls to be exceedingly jealous!
