This is a rarely found piece of mid nineteenth century toy tin litho. It dates from 1865 or possibly earlier. The piece is a miniature watering can. The sweet graphics show a little boy holding back his dog while the little girl moves to protect the mama cat and kitten. The spout handle has a lily of the valley on it. Very detailed design that is finely drawn.
Condition is excellent with the design surface showing very little wear and no dents or scratches. There is surface roughness on the top and sprinkler head. Side handle is lacking. Overall height to top of handle is 4-1/4 inches. Bottom is 2-3/8 inches across.
A superior addition to any collection. It’s a charmer.
