This is a very scarce piece of antique doll furniture. It was made in France about 1880. It is complete and all original with fine detail and a lovely old painted finish in a soft creamy white color. Matching towel bars are located on each side. Pull the right towel bar out and a painted tin bathtub appears resting in the cutout in the wood. Slide it back in and you have chest of drawers. The top two drawers are a false front to hid the tub and the bottom are functional. The price includes the small doll in the bathtub. She is a bisque head with sleep eyes and long wig. Head is incised "Made in Germany 12/0" and she is 7" tall. Her body is very loosely strung. The price also includes the puff "bubbles" that fill the tub and three pieces of miniature vintage linens. These are the two matching towels and open work runner on top of the cabinet. This piece measures 10-1/4" tall to the top of the gallery and 6-1/2" deep. When closed it is 13" wide. When the tub is fully extended it is 21-1/2" wide. This is a very scarce piece that is rarely seen. It makes a wonderful and unique display when it is opened and a larger doll is bathing the little miss in the bathtub. It's sure to bring a smile to anyone's face! Please note: The larger doll standing behind the bathtub is 16" tall. She is there to show the scale of the cabinet and is NOT included in the price. She may be purchased separately, please inquire.
