For sale is a 19th century wooden serving tray, depicting two dogs and a peacock in a river landscape, executed on silk in embroidery, bead work and stumpwork under glass and framed with a molded mahogany frame with open carrying handles. There is also some hand painting on the silk. I purchased it from a seller in Massachusetts, and the bottom has been covered in black wool felt. The tray measures about 21" long, 13 3/4" wide, and 2" tall, and is in nice antique condition, with some wrinkling and light staining on the silk, but no missing stitches or beadwork. The wooden tray shows minor age-related wear, but no chips, cracks, or repairs. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a wonderful addition to your cottage Victorian decor!
*****This tray is fairly heavy, weighing over 4 lbs. prior to packaging. If you are concerned about the cost of shipping, please don't hesitate to contact me, and I'll determine the exact cost to your area. Don't let shipping prevent you from owning this great old piece!*****
