For sale is a wonderful antique early 1900's handmade folk art hooked rug that depicts a basket of pansies. I found it at an antique mall in Springville, Utah, and although I can't completely verify it, I believe that it is probably Amish. The design is completed on burlap, and the basket is completely encircled with a garland of flowers, and there are also flowers in each corner, all done in a wide variety of colored fabric strips, mostly rayon or heavy cotton, on an ecru background. The rug measures about 33" x 24", and is in superb antique condition, with no holes, rips, stains, or missing hook work. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What an outstanding addition to your collection that would be absolutely charming in your cottage garden decor!
