For sale is a wonderful vintage 1920's handbag that I found at an antique mall in Ogden, Utah. It is made of midnight blue velvet with and embroidered rose design completed in several shades of pink, 2 shades of green, golden yellow, and brown. On the back are the embroidered initials "GAK", I believe, although I'm not absolutely certain, done in a sort of champagne color outlined in black with orange dots. The clasp is silver, and has the design of a roaring female lion in the middle, with 2 seated lions on each end. The design also includes ginkgo leaves, and other stylized flowers and leaves. The purse has a chain handle and an olive green silk lining. The purse measures about 8" wide and 9" long, not including the handle, which adds an additional 7 1/2" or so. The purse is in nice, but antique condition, with an old patina to the metal clasp, which includes some minor rust, and the silk lining has fairly significant wear/shattering. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a wonderful addition to your collection of vintage and antique women's accessories!
