For sale is a very nice vintage handmade pine needle basket that I found at a second hand store in Twin Falls, Idaho. It is rather unusual, because it has a lid with a pine cone knob. There is also a note inside that was written by the maker to the person she gifted it to stating that is a Papago type of basket, but I don't know if the maker was a member of that tribe. The pine needles are woven together with grass, some of which has been dyed brown and some green. The basket measures about 6 1/2" tall including the pine cone handle, 6" in diameter on the top with an opening that is 3 3/4", and 4 7/8" in diameter on the bottom. The lid is about 4 3/8" in diameter. The basket is in nice vintage condition. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a unique addition to your basket or Native American collection!
