For sale is an antique photo of a young Victorian woman that I found at an antique store in the Midwest last summer. It is a nice photo, but the reason I purchased it was the absolutely gorgeous frame that the photo is in. It is a very deep walnut frame that is faux painted in 2 different techniques. The outermost edges are painted in gold with large black spots, and inside, a section is faux painted to resemble burl wood. there is additional black striping, and a gold gilt inner liner. What makes the piece even more special is the beautiful matte surrounding the photo, which is actually a double matte, light blue/gray directly around the picture, and a charming fancy cut brown matte with pink flowers printed on it. The framed picture measures about 15 1/2" long, 13 1/2" wide, and 2 1/2" deep. The sight measurements of the glass are 9 1/2" x 7 3/8", and the sight measurements of the photo are 5 1/2" x 4". The picture is in beautiful antique condition, with minor age-related wear, but no chips, cracks, or repairs. The nails on the back do appear to be newer replacements. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a terrific addition to your Victorian decor!
