For sale is a very sweet antique 19th century picture of a vase of flowers with a dragonfly(?) hovering over one of the flowers that came from a collection in Pennsylvania. I think that it was probably made there as well, although I can't verify it. The flowers and the interior of the vase are made of tiny pieces of silk fabric, and the outside of the vase is made of embossed and painted paper. The entire composition is completed on paper, and is housed in what I believe is the original walnut veneer frame with its original metal circle hanger, and the original wavy glass. The framed picture measures about 13 1/2" x 11 1/2", with a sight measurement of 9 1/2" x 7 1/2". It is in antique condition, with areas of missing paper in the upper left and lower right corners, a few brown stains, and overall toning. Still, it is a beautiful, though fragile piece. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a charming addition to your cottage garden decor!
