For sale is a charming vintage folk art Spencerian calligraphy drawing of an oriole bird that came from Iowa. It is quite elaborately done, with leaves, ribbon, and other flourishes added to the design. At the bottom, it says "Flourished by Marvin Renischek, Oriole, Penmanship, Feb. 2, 1931. The piece is housed in its original period frame, and measures about 13 1/4" x 9 1/4". Sight measurements are about 11 3/4" x 7 3/4". It is in nice vintage condition, with no foxing, rips, etc. The frame shows age-related wear, and there is a very tiny chip in the glass on the top edge on the left, which I didn't even notice until I examined the piece very closely. In addition, there are remnants of what looks like duct tape on the cardboard backing. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a wonderful addition to your cottage decor!
