"If you're going to San Francisco, Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair, for those who come to San Francisco Summertime will be a love-in there,
Gentle people with flowers in their hair"... so went Scott McKenzie's 1960's Ode to the Flower Children---Hippies, one 'n all!!
The 1960's & 70's was certainly the ERA of the FREE SPIRITS and the fashions typically ran the gamut from the Supreme to the Ridiculous, and everything in-between...from the Haight Ashbury dresses made from anything---burlap and gingham to sparkly & beaded, from the Mini to the Maxi, and in every style imaginable, even to the MOD Fleet Street British look!! And the COLORS....WOW!!
And this 'Flower Child'-1960's Maxi Dress & matching Shawl is simply the HIPPEST of the HIP for the 21st Century Hipsters!! Made by "JT Dress Company by JODY of California", it seems to be a light-weight cotton blend with a wonderful floral design of orange florals with blue and green foliage beautifully adorning the entire dress; the bodice is a lace-up lace-covered and lace cummerbund goes around the raised waistline; the A-line skirt is trimmed at the bottom with more lace and a huge 11" ruffle, all the way around the hemline!!
The Triangle Shawl is about 64" across and ruffled, too!!
There is no size label in the dress, and is probably a Modern Size 4/6, with the following APPROXIMATE measurements:
26" Across the Empire Waist area
34"-35" Bustline, underarm-to-underarm
Variable hip area
57" Length, shoulder to hemline
This 70's Maxi Ensemble is in EXCELLENT Vintage Condition with no issues that I can see to even note!
Typical VINTAGE/ANTIQUE Condition and wear.

Also, please note that many VINTAGE CLOTHING items were 'Tailor-made' or 'Custom-fit' to the original wearer, and so may not fit YOU exactly the same; "Vintage Ladies" were a bit different in shape and so were their fashions.
