MOUSEFEATHERS, what??! Well, that's the name of an up-scale little girl's dress manufacturer, based out of San Francisco up until about 1990. The market in that area of California was thick with clothing companies and the ingenuity of some young mothers, decided that kids' clothing would fit right in, too!
MouseFeathers was a start-up by Stephanie Upham, a commercial art major, who began making dresses at home for her daughter, Sasha, back in 1979. A friend suggested that she try to sell them to local stores, and so she did and joined the 20+ other San Francisco children's wear companies.
fun and frolic
This adorable dress is not a LITTLE, LITTLE girls' dress, but would fit a tween or teenage girl. The fabric is a festive, bright design featuring a cameo of a cherubic little girl's face with a bowed Holly Hat, then surrounded by the colors of pink and red and a bright blue framing the cameo girls. The rounded collar is surrounded in the same blue lace trim and a little bouquet of pink and red flowers. The cuffed sleeves are 3/4 length; the back closure buttons up with 6 buttons and ties in the back. The FULL SKIRT (shown with a crinoline, not included with the dress), is made of 4 tiers of beautifully gathered material and edged with the same bright blue lace trim.
The dress is labelled SIZE 8, with the following measurements:
34" across waistline...at the widest, without being tied in the back
30"-32" Bustline, underarm-to-underarm
34" Length, shoulder to hemline
This Fun 'n Frolic dress is in EXCELLENT Vintage Condition with no issues I can see to even note!
