*Marks: Japanese silver hallmarks, Meiji period
Antique pair of Japanese Aesthetic Movement Cobalt Blue Cloisonne Enamel Meiji cuff links made circa 1910. Fashioned in 950 silver (tested and marked with Japanese hallmarks), the front faces are designed as a white dove perched on a lovely flowering tree branch. Fronts and backs are inlaid cloisonne of multicolored vitreous enamel. The 'backs' are designed with two tones of blue surrounded with silver dots. The fronts measure 17 mm x 17 mm and the backs 21 mm x 8 mm. The cuff links are joined with sturdy silver link chains. Each cuff link is clearly marked with the Japanese makers mark and quality control standard. These antique cuff links are in fabulous condition. The romantic symbolism of the white dove would make these a lovely gift for the groom from bride.
