Circa 1940's white gold filled floating opal Iris pendant necklace. Marked 1/20 12k GF around the top of the cap near loop. The chain is not original to the pendant but is very sturdy and compliments the pendant well. The pendant is oblong glass filled with oil and has chips of opal floating inside. Measures 1" by 1/2" wide. Has original Iris Floating Opals presentation case box. An usual find in white gold filled. When buying vintage floating opal jewelry it is important to avoid examples with yellowish liquid or bubbles. This pendant the liquid is clear and free of bubbles with tiny chips of opal floating freely and giving off little flashes of color with movement. Condition is excellent. Box is a floral brocade fabric with deep blue velvet insert. It displays well and is in very good condition with wear from storage on bottom of box.
