Antique vintage Japanese Aesthetic Movement Cobalt Blue Cloisonne Enamel Meiji sewing button made circa 1910. Fashioned in 950 silver (tested and marked with Japanese hallmarks). Exceptionally beautiful, unusual rounded corner square shape. A white dove bird perched on a lovely flowering tree branch possibly cherry blossom. Inlaid cloisonne of multicolored vitreous enamel. The button is clearly marked with the Japanese makers mark and quality control standard. The mark is shown under "world hallmarks japan" on the 925-1000 website "Guide to World Hallmarks" Used primarily in the Meiji period 1868-1912 and for a short time after. The button is in fabulous condition, measures 5/8" across.
