Santa brought me a Tiny Tears in 1955. My doll was a bit earlier than this one as my Tiny had a compo face. I still remember how thrilled I was to find her under the tree, and that was 62 years ago. My mother must have had her on layaway for three months.
This Tiny Tears is about 1956 or '57 and she's 18" tall. Just a wonderful baby in her Tiny Tears outfit with her Tiny Tears bubble pipe. Wonderful condition, too--unlike my poor doll that was loved to death. (Actually, a mouse nibbled off her composition nose when Mom stored her away) The shoes and socks are not original, nor are her little ruffly panties under the Tiny panties.
Her hair is a golden brown, not red. Energy saving light bulbs and sunless days make it difficult to photograph colors with real accuracy. Her hands and her feet are modeled so nicely--dimpled and soft. Her eyes are clear and a lovely blue. Her lashes are there, her little rosebud mouth is intact and the hole where her pipe or her bottle goes isn't worn. She has no odors, no stains. Just a great example of a 1950s Tiny Tears. Thank you for looking.
