This doll is one of the earliest Tiny Tears ever made. She is marked--some of it's under her brown caracul wig-- "Ame. Character" plus patent numbers. Made by American Character Doll Co. in 1950. She's about 14" tall with a hard plastic head and jointed rubber toddler body. She wears a floral flannel pajama set, which seems original mommy made, and her original diaper. She wears pink knit booties, equal to her age and made just for her. She has hazel sleep eyes, typical of Tiny Tears. She cries and wets, which was a big deal for a doll in the 1950s.
This doll has been lovingly preserved. She has some very light scuffing on her right cheek, and her body is in amazingly good condition. No discoloration, no smells. Her jammies are a little dingy with age as are her booties, but no rips or tears or worn spots. Her wig is full, as are her eyelashes. She's a nice doll.
