This doll's cheese keeper is just beautiful. And at 4" tall x 2" wide by 3" deep, the miniature aspect of the exquisitely painted details, with gold touches, boggles my mind. There is no damage, no missing areas of the painted parts. I purchased this years ago at what I would call a curiosity shop in Louisiana, Missouri--an early river town on the Mississippi River situated on the Missouri/Illinois state line. In those days, it had the most interesting shops filled with wonderful Victorian things. River towns were treasure troves then, because all merchant goods came down the rivers.
How do such gems like this survive time? Tucked away and forgotten perhaps? An attic find when I bought it almost thirty years ago, I pass it along to someone whose dolls have a far more elegant table than mine. Free shipping in the Continental U.S. All other places, shipping is calculated.
Best wishes to everyone. Thank you for stopping by.
