After Cornelis van Haarlem (Dutch, 1562-1638) The Fall of Man, 1592 Oil Painting on wood panel, the painting measures 16 inches high by 12 inches wide. It has an interesting gilt wood decorative frame measuring 21-3/4 high by 17-3/4 wide. The painting is after the original work in the Rijks museum, Amsterdam. This is a beautiful painting. In the tree above the two figures is a man with a snake body tempting Eve with an apple. Adam and Eve are holding an apple and a branch together. There is an owl perched on the tree limb. On the bottom are birds, sheep, dogs, and a monkey holding a cat. Both the painting and the frame are in excellent condition.
